Hey silent ones.. ;)
Just thought I'd babble a bit about what I'm doing lately. I've recently switched sequencers to Renoise and I must say I am quite happy with it's features, stabililty and workflow for a tracker-like sequencer. It is also going to be my first and only purchase for next year.
I'm currently going through the arduous task of converting my started projects under Madtracker to Renoise. As madtracker isn't very flexible it is proving to be a slow process and it doesn't even have midi-out for example. I will also have to redo all my automations on the VST's as there is no way to export them, nor is there any way to export your songs in any format another MIDI sequencer can understand.
I suppose therein lies the lesson of trying to do professional work with a non-professional product...
Nonetheless, I have a track called "Komodo" planned for the website. I might have to finish it under Madtracker as it might be too much work to convert, but that would be sad at the same time as I can do so much of a better and faster job with Renoise if I just had the option of importing and continuing.
Things are looking up for the future though, and Renoise is going to make things alot easier for me. As I am very used to tracking, it is a joy to work with it's design and I feel excited every time I open it ;)
Greets to all, hope the music making is going well?
TM.

Can't Wait
Sounds interesting, I have never used Renoize myself but from the reviews I read it seems like an awesome tracker.
Soon
Thanks for the hint and the link. I fell in love with it rather quickly, had to learn some different commands but was easier than I thought. And everything just works.
I decided to convert "komodo" after all. It took me a few hours to transcode the patterns and remap the instruments and controls. I still have to redo the automations, but luckily I won't have to do this stuff again.
Can't really say if the tracks I'm going to release on the site will be better than my old stuff as I should keep the "good stuff" for the album, but it shouldn't be too bad either ;)
