I've found some free VST's that simulate some guitar amplifier / distortion units over here:
http://www.simulanalog.org/guitarsuite.htm
They simulate these units and is apparantly quite accurate.
- Boss DS-1 (Distortion stompbox)
- Boss SD-1 (Super Overdrive stompbox)
- Tube Screamer (Overdrive stompbox)
- Oberheim PS-1 (Phaser stompbox)
- Univox Univibe (Modulations stompbox)
- Fender Twin 1969 (Guitar amplifier)
- Marshall JCM900 Dual Reverb (Guitar amplifier)
I played a clean electric guitar sample through the Fender Twin and it sounds pretty sweet ;) Gonna play with the others..
TM.
They ok
I also downloaded those but I'm not quite happy with them...
They sound a bit thin...
Although it's fun to sometimes add the Boss DS/SD-1 to snare drums ;)
Redfox uses this program called Freeamp. It emulates Cabs and Heads and has quite a few effects as well. But I found it hard to play with it like a commercial Guitar Amp VSTs.
He has a Marshall JVM900 emulator as well which you can almost tweak to be played live.
Unfortuanately I don't really like either of the two above apps.
I will rather wait till I buy my Jamlab from M-Audio and get the bundled AMP Software with.
