Ping

Been a while since I've posted anything, but no fear - I will return.

Unfortunately my production machine experienced a slight case of deadness a while ago. All attempts and rituals to bring it back to life failed so I had to live without one for a while. It did have blown caps on the motherboard for the last couple of years that I was never able to get fixed, so it was just a matter of time anyway.

TM - Track upload

I've uploaded "Lost Experiments Vol 2" to my artist page. It's a little shorter than the previous one but should be interesting for a listen. I'll continue to upload some of my older stuff until I have finished something new.

Progess on my new music is steady, I'm spending a bit of time every day now on my tracks and am getting quite comfortable with Renoise. I have at least converted most of my Madtracker experiments so it will free up some more time to work on them.

TM's streaming page

I've added a streaming page for some of my experiments over here. I've also put a link on my artist page for future reference.

I have one sample called "Organism" up so far but I'd love to get your opinions on them in the future. They will not be anything album-worthy yet but just me playing around with some sounds and styles.

TM's progress

Hey silent ones.. ;)

Just thought I'd babble a bit about what I'm doing lately. I've recently switched sequencers to Renoise and I must say I am quite happy with it's features, stabililty and workflow for a tracker-like sequencer. It is also going to be my first and only purchase for next year.

I'm currently going through the arduous task of converting my started projects under Madtracker to Renoise. As madtracker isn't very flexible it is proving to be a slow process and it doesn't even have midi-out for example. I will also have to redo all my automations on the VST's as there is no way to export them, nor is there any way to export your songs in any format another MIDI sequencer can understand.

Poll, activity.

Hi all,

I've posted a poll for the next two weeks with some choices. If there are any other ideas or things you would like to see please leave a comment on the poll page, would love to hear them :)

"Lost Experiments" upload

Hi Guys,

I've uploaded "Lost Experiments Vol 1" to my page. They are a little dated and I don't know if you will like them. I'd like to put up some of the experiments I made from 2000 onwards just to keep some flow and I'll try to upload one every week or so ;)

I've finalled sorted most of the problems reading my old madtracker files and recording the output internally, but It's a tricky process and I've had many forced reboots by accidently killing the input of virtual audio cable without stopping the recorder running off the same device first... fun ;) When I do have the cash I'm considering registering and buying the madtracker wave-output module.

Weekend sampling

I wove through my old experiments this weekend and there are a couple of gems that should make it into the sampler. Many tracks don't even make it past the first build though so I'm going to take some of the "better" moments and mix them together.

I've also discovered that some of my tracks don't play correctly under the new Madtracker (2.6.1). What bites even more is that due to it's reliance on the windows registry (urrgg) I can't run on old version alongside the new one. $@$#*!! comes to mind...

Welcome to all the new people on Dark, great to see this site getting more activity :)

A pulse in the signal ;)

Hi all :)

It's been a couple of years since I released any work and I am a bit off-practice but starting to get into the swing of things again.

I started experimenting with Madtracker, GM Soundfonts and VST's a couple of months ago and I am quite impressed by the variety of quality free synthesizers and instruments out there.

I'm working on a "sampler" for my artist page which will be a mix of my experiments over the last couple of years. My hobby got little attention over that time and I never finished any tracks but kept experimenting in my spare time. I hope it will be an interesting filler from then to now and hopefully be enjoyable to "sample" through ;)
